Thoughtless Thursday: Old Boredom, New Friends

Goooood Morning, Everyone!

Again, my winter blues has been hitting me hard.  Bosses feel kind of bad that we're not outside all the time, but let's face it- the cold weather is just not giving in!  Luckily, we have some (surprise!!!) very good news:

Temporary Foster Sibling tonight!!!!!

I make sure my Bosses feel as guilty as possible when they leave for work.

We're going to be taking care of a Goldendoodle who is about to turn 1 year old.  We'll have him for the next few days and into the weekend, so that he can go to his permanent foster family.  He looks absolutely adorable, and I'll be sure to get my paws on that camera so you can see for yourself (hopefully) tomorrow.

Completely splaying out in the yard while shoveling my face in the good stuff = favorite thing!

....and because I'm a total optimist, more good news for everyone: Daylight Savings Time is less than 2 weeks away!  Who's looking forward to that?! (ME!)

It ALWAYS Snows on Tuesdays.

I'm not sure if anyone else has noticed, or maybe it's a Minnesota thing, but it has snowed for about the last 4 or so Tuesdays.  What the?!

Look at that GREEN GRASS- oh, we miss that around here!!!

I'm getting pretty desperate for a new friend around here.  Even Dad (who thinks less is more) is mentioning the notion of a foster dog, and how we need one.  Dad never says that- so you know I'm getting pretty needy! ;-)

There's nothing too exciting going on inside the house these days...I want my sprinkler time!!!

Bosses FINALLY found a newer and bigger bed over the weekend.  So, now I get so lounge around onthat.  Boss managed to snag the mattress for FREE off a website called "Freecycle".  Before you go judging my boss on how disgusting "used" mattresses are, let me tell you that it was brand-new!!!! Some people were downsizing and got this mattress a year ago, had it in a guest room, and never actually used it.  So.....Boss and her dad went to pick it up, drove it home, and now it's like heaven on Earth here.  Gotta love good deals! (That means that since they didn't spend the money on a bed, that they can spend that extra $$ on a fence for me and my foster sibs!) <----can someone pitch this idea to my Bosses?!

Mmmmmm, I love gnawing on Bosses' firewood. So tasty.

Anywho- it's filthy cold out here.  Still.  However, it's warming up, and Daylight Savings is less than 2 weeks away!  Anyone looking forward to late nights on the patio or deck again?  I sure am.  I'm pretty ready to get out in the yard and chase that sprinkler, gnaw on Bosses' firewood, you know, all that fun stuff! :)

A Golden(doodle) Birthday Pawty

Happy Monday, Everyone!

Running around greeting all my pup friends!

I want to tell you alllllllll about the loads of fun I had a little while back at a little thing I call a doggie birthday "paw"ty.

My two brothers, Chester and Dylan, greeting all their friends.

Boss keeps in contact with my foster mom, another rescue volunteer, who keeps in contact with many of her dog acquaintances and friends.  So, every year, one of her Goldendoodles, Kraelyn, has a birthday pawty with her siblings!  (Also: Kraelyn and Spencer the Goldendoodle are siblings! So, Happy Birthday to Spencer, too!)  The dogs invite all their doggie friends over to an indoor play area, where we have a crazy fun time.

"Dylan, get off me!  I can't fight on my back!" I say

"The door to the outside...my favorite place!"...says everyone at the door to the potty area.

It's Hunter!  What a good little boy!

My daddy, Roy, was there too!  He's getting much better.

"WELCOME BACK FROM THE POTTY AREA, GEORGES!" says everyone chasing him

"Uhh, Chester, no time to look back- keep running!"

"Oh, really?! Don't you take that treat ball away from me!!!"

"Walk awayyy.....walk away." says little Annie in the back when she sees Georges and Chester pretending to be Lion King...

"GET HUNTER!!!" I say as he scuttles off to the other side of the room.

Alright, crew!  We've assembled.  Now we must team up on Hunter!!!

Bailie played a lot of fetch!

"It's okay, Hunter, you're in good hands!  We'll help you hang out with the right crowd!" says Chester, with a conforting hug.

Chester's had a pretty intense day!  Time for a break. Whew.

See what I mean?  Even Hunter was with us at the time!  He loved the playtime- I'm not so sure he ever has seen 30 dogs in one room! :)

Thoughtless Thursday: Happy Trails, Hunter

Good news, and bad news.

The good news:  Hunter was adopted!  He went home a few days ago with his new "furever family".  They live down in Iowa with a very nice older couple.  Know what's really cool?  His new mom and dad host a campground in the sumertime.  Uh, lucky dog!!! He gets a lake, a 5th wheel camper, and 2 humans all to himself!  And the couple's kids have furry children for him to play with, along with naked puppies (they call these babies?) to play with, too (under very close supervision because of his history, of course).  Sounds like a doggie heaven to me!

The bad news:  I am going stir crazy over here.  I've been trying to engage in play with my kitty sibs, Thor and Allie- they do not like all this new-found attention.  Huh.  So, I'm a lonely pup again, waiting for a new foster sibling to call my very own.  Boss says that she's got another pup in the works for me- we'll find out tonight if this doggy's medical situation will work in our house.  So, I'll keep you posted with any new details of a new friend for me!

Here's our little photo "tribute" to my best bud, Hunter.  We miss you terribly, but we know you're so happy in your new home!  Happy trails, Hunter!

Wordless Wednesday: Brave Roy's First Smile!

Just when we thought spring might be making its way in, it's below zero again.  What the?!  Anywho, I'm going to try to get a Mischief Monday post out there on Monday about some fun times I've been having the past few weeks! :)  Ahywho, I wanted to let you know that my DAD, Roy, has been caught smiling on camera for the first time!  Here are my parents!
