Hello Again, Everyone!
My weekend was awesome. Bosses decided the post-holiday season is going to be spent relaxing, so we've all just been super lazy and just hanging out at home. Nothing terribly exciting.

Hunter gives pretty toothy kisses.... |
Hunter has been causing quite the ruckus, though. He's pretty vocal- he'll bark at just about anything. During the daytime, no big deal. However...he's been barking from 4am-7am in his crate, and Bosses aren't too thrilled about their loss of sleep! They also don't have too much room in their bed for animals, so that's why we don't sleep in their room (floor isn't an option for us, because the bed looks way too appealing!).
|
"What? No.....we weren't playing on the couch at all........" |
Bosses tried many different methods of getting him to enjoy his crate more- soft music/talk radio in the background, quiet room, sleeping in a crate next to mine, in the room next to ours, tasty T-R-E-A-T in crate upon getting in, and nothing has worked. So, finally, Bosses caved, and at 4:30am, opened the crate door up. Want to know what Hunter did?

The favorite spot- Boss' bed! Everything about it! |
.....
raced up the stairs straight to their bed, jumped up, and fell asleep. The little guy knows what he wants! So now, Bosses have a furry bed heater. I'm pretty jealous, because I don't get to sleep in their room, but hey- I don't make a fuss. Life's not fair, you know. Mom promised me that someday, when they can get a bigger bed, that I'll get to sleep in their room. I'll hold them to it!
Do you have a furry bed heater at night?

ReplyDeleteoh I do miss my furry heaters... now I just have to make do with beanbags... Hugs and wags, YAM-aunty xxx
I think we could probably cover half a full-size bed with just animals- so warm, but no room for sleeps! >.<
DeleteKilo absolutely loves to "warm up" the bed for me. Lol
ReplyDeleteIt definitely helps to have fluffy bed warmers when it's this cold for this long!
DeleteLooks like a pawfect way to spend the day!
ReplyDeleteYour Pals,
Murphy & Stanley
Whatever it takes to stay warm out here! :) It usually is pretty pawfect, although when we want to snuggle up at bedtime, the Bosses aren't terribly amused (I take up the entire end of the bed, and Dad is pretty tall, so things generally don't work out well. :( )
DeleteI had problems barking and had to work with the doggie therapist. He had them put me in the kennel and covered it with a sheet. When i barked they shook the Kennel and it made me think that my barking was making the kennel move hence i stopped barking. They gave me a Kong to keep me busy. I hafta have the TV on for noise. He said it takes 30 days to make a habit. They also have a metal can with change in it and they shake that as needed.

Great advice! And I'm glad to hear that you found a way to get better! :) Hunter has been sleeping in bed (his main motive)- thank goodness he's little (relative to me...the 53-lb hunk of fur). Hopefully whoever adopts him will looooooove bed snuggles- I know someone out there would really like that!
DeleteYou have lots of good places to do your relaxin
ReplyDeleteLily & Edward
I'm so glad Bosses let us sleep there during the day- they used to keep the door shut because the kitties would eat their bed sheets! Now that they installed ceiling fans, the kitties have an irrational fear of them, and won't go in anymore. It's a dog's room now! :D
DeleteSounds like Hunter's got em trained!
ReplyDeleteYep- he's got them wrapped around his little paws. Hopefully his furever home will, too! :)
DeleteBOL, they do know what they want, don't they?! We enjoy cuddle time with our pups on the couch, but they're not allowed on our bed. They both sleep in their respective doggy beds next to our bed. They LOVE to be tucked in during wintertime ;)
ReplyDeleteWe tried the doggie bed, but then I decided the bed was just that much better and kept jumping up :-P Hehe! Us doggies know what we want!
DeleteLOL!! My husband and I used to sleep separately for a while due to his snoring and Zoe would sleep with me. I've also slept with my dogs on trips in hotel rooms. Basically what I've done is spent a lot of time reinforcing the dogs for being on their beds. We've done lots and lots of training sessions so they've learned that their bed is the best place to be and we don't have any trouble with dogs sneaking up onto our bed. :D I will call them up in the morning when it's time to get up to say good morning to them, though! They stay in their beds all night long, though!
ReplyDeleteHmm, that's a good idea! I realllllly love sleeping in their bed (as does Hunter), but maybe they need to try harder (T-R-E-A-T-S?!) to tell me that my foam doggie bed is MY bed. :)
DeleteSadie, how could anyone say no to that face! You will get a spot in the bed eventually!
ReplyDeleteYou're right- I'm sure they'll cave in someday! :)
DeleteI would love it if all four cats and all three dogs were on my bed at the same time, but there isn't room.
ReplyDelete--Wags (and purrs) from Life with Dogs and Cats.
Wouldn't that be nice? :) Us 4 animals would just have a brawl if we were all on the bed at the same time- Hunter and I are pretty young and restless and loooove our kitty siblings, so much that we would just wag our tails and try to lick them to death as long as they were within a 3-foot distance. Thor and Allie don't really like that. *sigh* Someday.......
DeleteYep, they know what they want! Sometimes I wish I could understand Cole and sometimes I know he'd just be saying, you are not the boss of me. LeeAnna at not afraid of color
ReplyDeleteHaha! Don't you wish they had a collar like the one from the movie "Up", where Dug the Golden Retriever can speak in English?! Boss says she'd love to hear my thoughts for like, a day. And then leave the rest to the imagination! :)
DeleteHarlow sleeps with us, only because she minds her manners and stays at the bottom between us. Monty isn't allowed because eventually he will stand on one of us or push one of us out of the bed. With Harlow, we had to let her up - she was a touch pup to house train so for about 5 months I slept with her leash looped around my ankle, just in case she tried to get up in the middle of the night.
