Monday Mischief: Post-Holiday Recap

Hi There!

All this Christmas-ing has worn us out!
So, my apologies for not writing much this past week.  The holidays turned out to be a super busy week, with tons of visitors from out of town.  The good news, however, is that they all came over to visit!  We had people come to visit for 7 days in a row.  Wow!

Isn't Hunter cute?
Hunter and I have been pretty good at holding down the fort (I guess I have to give the kitties some credit, too....I guess).  Not only do we hold down the fort, but we also entertain those who are in the fort!  What a combo.

Flannel sheets and napping go together like....Hunter and I do!....
Hunter, Thor, Allie, and I got some pretty sweet loot for Christmas, too!  Hunter got a football (of which I popped and shredded in 20 minutes...oops), we both got a large Nerf squeaky toy (of which Hunter stores in his mouth), I got a lump of coal dog toy (is this a passive aggressive warning?), and the entire family was treated with a Kurgo backseat car seat protector!  Oh, and Thor/Allie got this cool battery-operated "Twitch" cat toy so they're entertained.  It was wonderful!

Checking out the loot...
"Mom, can I open these yet?  I'm dying to see what's inside!!!"
What did you get for Christmas?  Better yet, what have you been up to while I've been entertaining the flocks of living things around here?

Hunter likes to nap with me.
"Are you done with that camera, yet, Boss?"
Chow!

FitDog Friday: The LAST Last Roughhouse

Hey, Everyone!

Happy Friday!  I'm sooooo happy we're finally to the weekend- TGIF.

It's a big day around here- Kaiser's big "Gotcha Day"!  His family will be here in a few hours to pick him up.  The 2 big humans are coming over earlier than their 2 small mailmen think- they don't think they're getting a puppy until tonight.  Little do they know, our friend will be there by the time they get home from school!  Woo hoo!

I'm not really allowed to play very hard with my little chew toy (whoops, I meant Kaiser)- he just got neutered a few days ago.  But, I can't help myself- we got a little exercise today to make sure he'll be nice and tired for his big adoption day. :)  I have to teach him how to be fit, right?

Enjoy some pictures of our last moments together! :)  Until our next playdate (or so we hope), we love you SO much, Kaiser (or now Geno)!!!

We share so well- I have to teach him how to eat sticks.
Those eyes....so gorgeous.
Boss got me a new collar!
Look at how big my buddy has gotten! Me (53 lbs) vs. Kaiser/Geno (now 15.5 lbs)
Look at Boss' beautiful fall bush!
I will sure miss going on our strolls around the yard together. <3

Thoughtful Tuesday: Rant and Rave

Well, fans, I'm still pooped.

This weekend was a doozy!  Bosses said I was out like a light.  No peeps.  All was quiet at the ranch.  I decided to give them a break.

My favorite carpet spot: the hallway upstairs by the kitchen.
I thought I would extend a huge thank you to everyone who has read my blog so far- I'm still pretty young, and Bosses have only taken me to one grade of Obedience School, so give me a break if my "etiquette" isn't up to sniff...oh, I meant snuff.  You know what I mean.  I'll try to reel you in for the long haul- I've got MANY years left, brace yourselves!

See?  I learned how to sit!  My grandpa's dog, JJ, can't do that!
I also want to thank all the wonderful folks at RAGOM for everything they have done for me- whether it was letting me hang my head at their home, bathing me when I was a wee little pup, entertaining me at events (like Meet & Greets, Goldzilla, etc), and giving me the life I've always wanted!  Thank you, everyone!

Did someone say, "wee little pup"?!  Here I am!
I've got so much to look forward to in the coming months.  I'll be going camping with the Bosses and their friends and adjoining pups this weekend in Southern Minnesota- I'm more than stoked for that.  That means LOTS of puppy playtime and hiking!  Count me in!  I will also be turning 1 YEAR OLD in a few weeks!!! Can you believe it?!?!? Bosses say it felt like yesterday that they brought tiny little me home to live with them.  Boy, what a ride it has been!  I think Bosses are crafting up something wonderful for my birthday- I overheard them possibly saying that a group birthday party with all my siblings might be in the works, but maybe my ears are a bit fuzzy!  Well, I guess they are literally fuzzy, but you get the point!  Bosses are doing their best to make an awesome Birthday Week for me!
Well, good treat-givers, I'm afraid I have been away from my favorite carpet spot way too long...it's time to hit the hay.

Didn't make it to the carpet spot- patio will have to do!
Chow!  Hope to bark at you all again at full force tomorrow!

"Morning After" Monday- The Hangover

I guess this title is rather, well, not completely what you think it is.

Goldzilla 2014.  It happened.  And I am very worn out.

First, I walked with the Bosses from their car on what I thought was a nice long walk through a park.
I was wrong.

The three of us walked up to this HUGE pack of gold furry things.  They all looked like me!  This was fantastic!  We found Foster Mom, who I looooove, and I found my brothers, and my Momma.  Then, we went on another walk with a huge pack of people.  I've never seen this many dogs like me in my life!  It was lots of fun.  I walked next to my brother, Ryder, and other friends who I met.
After we walked, we went back to the foster showcase tent, where we saw adoptable dogs.  My daddy is still available to adopt, but he wasn't there.  Oh well.  He's still building up his confidence at home, I think he's a great guy!

Bosses brought me to the off-leash dog play area nearby, where I got to play with my new best friends, my brothers, and Momma.  We loved it!

After that, we went around the other shops and got some cool free swag (and treats, let's be real).  We found more friends, and we even found my old Foster Sibling, Lobo!  What a crazy fun guy!

We got to try out an Agility course, which was fun.  All I did was walk across a bridge-type thing and I got Mom's homemade sweet potato treats.  Umm, yeah, of course I'm going to do that!  Easy as pie.
We waited in line for a long time to do this thing Bosses called a "Luring Course".  I chased this fluffy something around for about 5 minutes and wore myself out!  It was a blast!  It was like setting my kitty siblings free in the yard and chasing them around the perimeter!  The bosses that ran the course said I did really well for my first time doing it.  Maybe this will be in my future next summer.  Bosses were also thinking of doing a "Dock Dog" class- maybe I will be a sporty girl.  Who knows.  What do you think?

Bosses made a game-day decision to let me swim in the lake with the rest of my brand-new buddies.  I mean, after all, that would be torture.  So, they unhooked me from my leash, and I bolted into the water.  Small Boss said I looked like some lochness monster out in the water, but Big Boss said I ran like someone out of a scene from Baywatch.  That, my friends, was definitely a compliment.  My trip to the lake would not be complete without a good roll in the sand, too.  Small boss cringed, but she's not a dog- she has NO idea how exhilirating it is!

Well, I'm pretty much out for the next few days, but I'll try to write in my utterly groggy state.  All I can say is that I officially have a "Goldzilla Hangover".  Woof-da (give me a break, I'm a Minnesota dog).

Chow!

Oh Look, Boss, I'm on Your Computer!

Well, well, well.....look who's surfaced on the interwebs?!

Me!!! Sadie!!!

I could write novels about myself, let me tell you, good treat-givers.  I suppose I better start from the beginning, because that's the cutest part!

I was rescued from a breeder when I was 2 weeks old, along with my 6 brothers, 1 sister, my momma, and my daddy.  We're 100% Golden Retrievers, and we were rescued with 8 other adult dogs, as well as 34 other puppies.  Holy fur, Batman!  I lived with my fabulous Foster Mom and Foster Siblings (2 Resident Golden Doodles and 2 other Foster Goldens) until I was about 9 weeks old.  My bosses (I guess some call these treat-givers "humans") decided I was their furry friend when they came to play with me and my family one cold evening.  They were deciding which puppy to pick out of my family, and they liked me because I sat in the Big Boss's lap and took a nap- hey, a puppy's gotta pick out a warm and comfy lap, right?  Well, I went home with them, and look at my posh life here!

I live with my two Bosses and my two furry squirrel friends, Thor and Allie.  Well, the Bosses call them "cats", but I find that word to be synonymous with "squirrels" or better yet, "BEST FRIENDS FOREVER".  I love these little furry things.  I also occasionally live with foster siblings-  Bosses like to bring me friends to play with and find them awesome "forever" homes when they can.  I think it's fun.

Thor always waits for my next move.  Yikes!

The weird squirrel is almost always Thor.

This is my shy squirrel, Allie.  She doesn't mind me, though.

This is a long time to stay at this computer- there are lots of neighborhood walkers to bark at, and.... OH! SQUIRREL IN THE YARD! BYE!

(Sidenote: I am going to be walking for my rescue organization this upcoming weeekend, and I'd loooooove for you to help me raise some money to help other lucky pups like me start their new life to finding their forever homes, too!  Bosses created this fundraiser page: Goldzilla Fundraiser 2014.  Check it out, and donate if you can!  Otherwise, I'd looove to hear some support in the "comments" section to root me on at the RAGOM Goldzilla Walk!!!)
