Thoughtless Thursday: Another Craft!

Everyone!

You heard it: another crafty post!  Yahoo!

I decided to showcase the little puppy jacket I had last winter.  Unfortunately, I am now much bigger than I was when I was tiny, and no longer fit into it.  Fortunately, Boss is considering making me a bigger one so I can still support my football team in style!

Tiny me in my tiny coat.
Boss usually doesn't dress up animals, she says, but last winter was frigid up here in Minnesota (as is this year too, apparently).  Schools cancelled classes because it was too dangerous to wait for a bus, cars wouldn't start, businesses closed, it was just that cold (no, we're not wussies up here, either)!

My Iowa State Cyclones jacket!
Bosses were fostering a dog at the same time they initially adopted me, and he had very short hair (black lab mix).  Foster brother Harley refused to go outside to do his business unless he had little booties on and a jacket.  If I had a short buzz cut like that, too, I would've demanded some outerwear as well!  All factors considered, Small Boss whipped out some dog jackets and bought some coordinating dog booties.  It made the -40 raw temperatures more bearable, that's for sure!

Take a look!  Pretty functional.  It was originally a flannel dog pajama pattern that went along with a pattern for bosses/small mailmen pajamas, but Small Boss decided it would work well for a fleece jacket.  It was a success!  I certainly like it, do you?

I really do wish that I didn't grow out of this....it's just so comfy!
Maybe Small Boss will make a few for a GIVEAWAY someday!  She'll have to get her mind working on that one- I'll make sure I run this by her.  Literally, and I gueeesssss I can bark at her and let her know.  I just like running better.

Well, I see that it's snowing outside, and it's warmed up to a balmy -15F (windchill included), which is at least better than yesterday's -35F! :)  Time to go out and catch those snowflakes!

FitDog Friday: The LAST Last Roughhouse

Hey, Everyone!

Happy Friday!  I'm sooooo happy we're finally to the weekend- TGIF.

It's a big day around here- Kaiser's big "Gotcha Day"!  His family will be here in a few hours to pick him up.  The 2 big humans are coming over earlier than their 2 small mailmen think- they don't think they're getting a puppy until tonight.  Little do they know, our friend will be there by the time they get home from school!  Woo hoo!

I'm not really allowed to play very hard with my little chew toy (whoops, I meant Kaiser)- he just got neutered a few days ago.  But, I can't help myself- we got a little exercise today to make sure he'll be nice and tired for his big adoption day. :)  I have to teach him how to be fit, right?

Enjoy some pictures of our last moments together! :)  Until our next playdate (or so we hope), we love you SO much, Kaiser (or now Geno)!!!

We share so well- I have to teach him how to eat sticks.
Those eyes....so gorgeous.
Boss got me a new collar!
Look at how big my buddy has gotten! Me (53 lbs) vs. Kaiser/Geno (now 15.5 lbs)
Look at Boss' beautiful fall bush!
I will sure miss going on our strolls around the yard together. <3

Monday Mischief: The Big Reveal

Good Morning, Friends! Sorry we didn't have a post yesterday- it was a very busy day around here.

Big Boss was on a business trip outside of the country, so we went to pick him up at the airport.  I missed him SOOOO much.  I was the one who picked him, if you read how I got adopted!  So, I am VERY glad his lap and hands are back to give me tons of attention.  Yay!  Here I am, waiting for him to get out of customs and baggage claim:

After we picked him up, we played a ton, inside and outside.  Of course, little Kaiser doesn't have the stamina that I have, so we had to let him take a quick puppy nap.  Because....yesterday was his big day.  He had a potential family come to our place to meet him!  People who have applied and are interested in meeting him come to our house (one family at a time) to see if the dog would be a good fit for their family.

The people who came to meet him were GRRRReat!  There were very friendly big humans, and there were two small mailmen that accompanied them!  They loved the two of us pups.  Of course, they were interested in Kaiser, but I made sure to butt my face into this shindig to get as much attention as I could get. ;-)

They couldn't resist him- they said Kaiser reminded them of their first dog.  That's usually a good sign, methinks!  They couldn't put him down- they gave him T-R-E-A-T-S, held him, let him run around and play with toys, let him play with me, watched him try to take a nap.....they fell in love with him!  We all could tell that it was a successful match.

The adoption policy is that a potential adopter waits a day (or "sleeps on it") concerning whether they would like to adopt the dog or not.  We think this is a good idea around here, so that the people don't make an impulse decision, take the dog home, and realize that maybe they made a hasty choice.  So.....24 hours will be up at noon today here in the lovely state of Minnesota!

What do you think?  Deal, or no deal? Maybe we can make a breaking news insert this afternoon!  We're hoping it's a deal, so that we can spread our mischief-makers everywhere! :)

Sepia Saturday: A Suitor!

Hear Ye!  Hear Ye!

Look!  Off yonder!  Driving from the East!

A suitor, to "woo" our tiny little buddy, Kaiser!

We're hoping that this family will be a match for our friend- we love him to pieces, but we know that there are many families excited to bring their own fluffy friend home.  Here's to hoping they fall in love!

We love you, tiny little Kaiser! :)
